Why Reusable?

Plastic Fantastic

Strong, lightweight, and mouldable, plastics are used in thousands of products that add comfort, convenience, and safety to our everyday lives.

Where’s the Problem?

The convenience offered by plastic, has led to a throw-away culture: single-use plastics account for 40% of the plastic produced each year. Many of these products, such as plastic bags and food wrappers, have a lifespan of just minutes to hours, yet they may remain in the environment for hundreds of years.

  • More than 8 million tonnes of plastic end up in the world's oceans each year – that’s a truckload every minute!
  • Only 9% of all plastic has been recycled
  • 12% has been incinerated
  • Leaving 79% to accumulate in the environment

Howard Plastics and Waste Material

We take our responsibility to the environment seriously. All waste material is granulated and where possible (over 90%) is reused. The remaining waste material is supplied to a local business who give the material a new lease of life by turning it into guttering.
