Strong, lightweight, and mouldable, plastics are used in thousands of products that add comfort, convenience, and safety to our everyday lives.
Where’s the Problem?
The convenience offered by plastic, has led to a throw-away culture: single-use plastics account for 40% of the plastic produced each year. Many of these products, such as plastic bags and food wrappers, have a lifespan of just minutes to hours, yet they may remain in the environment for hundreds of years.
- More than 8 million tonnes of plastic end up in the world's oceans each year – that’s a truckload every minute!
- Only 9% of all plastic has been recycled
- 12% has been incinerated
- Leaving 79% to accumulate in the environment
Reusable Water Bottles
There is no denying the benefits of staying hydrated and this, coupled with the global concern for single-use plastics has led to the increase in popularity for all things reusable.
Ways to reduce and reuse in general
- Avoid excessive, non-recyclable packaging
- Say no to plastic straws
- Don't use plastic cutlery
- Switch to a bag for life
- Utilise reusable containers
- Carry a reusable water bottle
- Use glass jam jars for storage
- Have home-cooked meals

LDPE Sports Bottle
Low Density Polyethylene (LDPE) is a material that gives the bottles a gloss, pliable premium finish. We use 100% LDPE rather than mixing with other substrates to ensure our bottles can be recycled efficiently.
LDPE is the most widely recycled plastic in the UK with every council offering a solution for this material.
- The ideal replacement for single-use PET bottles
- Smart Manufacturing
All our materials are food and drink safe and meet REACH standards.
Howard Plastics and Waste Material
We take our responsibility to the environment seriously. All waste material is granulated and where possible (over 90%) is reused. The remaining waste material is supplied to a local business who give the material a new lease of life by turning it into guttering.
